JB011868 High Speed Centrifuge

Alfa Laval Clara 80 Low Flow Module High Speed continuous flow disk stacked centrifuge used to harvest bacteria from fermentation broth.

There are two applications we need to accomplish with the disc stacked centrifuge. 1) To harvest whole cell e. coli bacteria from a fermentation broth and 2) To separate cell debris after we lyse the bacterial cells. We would like to be able to process 800 liters in about 3-4 hours of time. Our dry cell mass concentration is currently between 30 - 50 g/L. We would like a system that produces at least 12,000 G-Force at the bowl wall and operates with a continuous flow with adjustable intermittent solids ejection.

Sole Source Sole Source –ASL Interpreting and CART/Captioning Services

The National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management at Utah State University proposes to contract with Alternative Communication Services (ACS) of Lombard, IL for ASL Interpreter and CART/Captioning services for the 2015 Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Annual Meeting to be held in Louisville, KY March 7-11, 2015.

The EHDI Annual Meeting is a conference that brings together professionals who provide services to young children with hearing loss and their families in every state. The over 900 participants will include Audiologists, researchers, representatives from Federal and State Agencies, family members of children with hearing loss and others. Additional information about the conference can be found at http://ehdimeeting.org/

ACS will provide American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting for all plenary, breakout (Topical Sessions) and special sessions of the conference using high quality RID certified ASL interpreters for platform interpreting. Some sessions during the conference will run concurrent with others. ACS will also provide interpreters to act as voice for nationally renowned Deaf presenters. ACS is providing sufficient interpreters to allow for appropriate workload and rest.

ACS will provide live (remote) captioning in all breakout meeting rooms (Topical Sessions) during the conference, and provide Communication Access Real-time Translation (CART) services during the main plenary sessions.

ACS will provide captioning that appears and runs on the top of the main screen of each meeting room and not on a separate screen. ACS will coordinate the Audio Visual service provider to ensure all needs for ASL and CART/Captioning are met.

Alliant will provide technicians and audio visual equipment required for all plenary, breakout (Topical Sessions), special, and ancillary meetings. Some sessions of the conference will run concurrent with others. Audio visual equipment required for the conference includes but is not limited to multiple LCD projectors, tripod screens, MS PowerPoint enabled computers and laptops, printers, microphones (handheld, Lavaliere, etc), speakers, audio mixer, AV switcher, podiums, and lighting.

Equipment also includes a hard drive network and VLAN set up from the speaker ready room so that presentations can be loaded to the computers in the speaker ready room and loaded from there to the computers in the meeting rooms without someone manually having to load them in each room.

Alliant will provide equipment that allows captioning to appear on the main screen of each meeting room and not on a separate screen during PowerPoint presentations. Alliant will coordinate with ASL translation and CART/captioning service provider to provide real time captioning.

RFI Request for Information (RFI) – Utah State University Innovation Campus and Development - Sources are sought for design, build, and leasing (with purchase option) of the following special purpose building and test track. The facility shall be known as the “Electrified Transportation—Technology, Engineering, and Systems Testing” Facility (ET—TEST Facility). The facility and test track shall be located on the USU Innovation Campus. The building will be used to test and demonstrate “electrified transportation” meaning electrified roadways containing a series of energized electrical pads. Electrical energy is transferred to corresponding pads in electric vehicles. The energy is captured and stored on board the vehicle and used to power electric motors that drive the vehicle forward.
